Sick of All the Drama

How much of the news now a days is "drama" and how much of it is real? I hate watching the news. I really only watch SportsCenter any more. My feeling is that if it is important enough, it will be mentioned on SC. But, anymore the sports media is starting to get my goat. Story after story is enriched in drama and they really like to over embellish the minor details or just over look them. Case in point: Peyton Manning's resent knee surgery (I know you all think I am beating a dead horse right?). The sports media is so gullible. The tactic the Colts are using, has been used for generations. "Is so-and-so gonna play or isn't he?" "This guy is a game time decision." etc. I am almost positive that the whole week leading up to the first regular season game the media will be like: "They are not sure if Manning is gonna start." or "He's probable." Whatever. I am positive that the Colts will feed the media's curiosity by telling them, "Manning will be a game time decision." It is almost laughable. They really eat that stuff up. What really could be funny, but I don't think will happen, is the Bears prepare not to face Manning. Ha! Right. They know as well as about 75% of the American population, that Manning will play.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

The time has come to put away any notions of a slow, boring, and methodical game of baseball and herald in the stadiums full of Red-Blooded Americans cheering in unison at the sight of one grown man (230 lbs worth) slamming full speed into another with the thud that could only be described as sickening, all in the primal effort of protecting a section of field designated to him at that given time.
Yes, I am aware that I have probably written the worlds longest run on sentence. But it is a sacrifice I am willing to accept, in order to describe the passion that I and the majority of Americans feel at this time of the year. Yes, FOOTBALL and no not Soccer (put some pads on and play a real game that involves full contact) is probably the best sport, besides baseball, that our country has ever come up with. I hope that I don't come off as annoying, but I love this time of the year.

Making Up for Lost Time

Ok first things first. I have had a busy past few months so my blog has definitely suffered. So I am making it up to all of the three people who read this. I am happy for the gift of Facebook. I cannot stress how much it means to catch up with college buddies, and the ol' high school crowd. I sit and laugh to myself about all the good memories that this Web-application has invoked. From my fellow Chi Sig brothers, to all the past crushes, and even see my wifes social circle from a different angle. I am seeing life from a different perspective, one that shows my just how many friends one has. (I was getting worried there for a while). Well, I hope this entry satisfies all of my readership. Until the next four months or so. Not really.
